“The Intersection” seeks to discover the crossroads of eternity and today. We’ve been told that God stands with us at those intersections, whether in our joys, our heartaches, our challenges, our decisions, our parenting, or our relationships. There is no circumstance outside the realm of his ability to influence. Still, life seems to breed more questions than answers. The challenge lies in relentlessly pursuing God through seasons of doubt. We must press on to unearth his words of truth, and then wrestle with them as He brings it to life in real-time. Is He relevant? Absolutely! Does the Bible still ring true and apply to me today? Without a doubt! Jeremiah 16:6 says, “This is what the LORD says, ‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is. and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.’”
The further we stray from the “ancient paths”, the way God designed for us to be in relationship with him from the beginning of time, the more we feel the disconnection and thus struggle in isolation. If we can rediscover the ancient paths, the way mankind once walked with God in the garden–in reckless abandon, confident of his loving concern, in step with his plans–life develops rhythm. Not an absence of pain and confusion, mind you, but a certainty of purpose. There is such wisdom in what he has to say, such freedom in his word! The courageous unwrapping of it awards us life and rest.
The Intersection is a place of connection that knows no geographical limitations. Wherever you live, whatever your schedule, you can grab a cup of coffee or a Diet Coke and sit with us a while. Michele, Stacy, and Krista not only bring unique backgrounds and life experiences to the Intersection, but they also bring different writing styles. The Intersection is designed to be an interactive site–meaning that you, too, can post comments about the different thoughts and devotions you read. Not only are your comments welcomed and encouraged, but the more you contribute, the richer are the rewards for all of us. Who knows? You mind end up with friendships & insights that may have never been born otherwise. Check out the Intersection weekly to view new devotions, book and Bible study reviews, and comments from others who have joined us. We hope that you meet us at the Intersection on a regular basis.
